Missoni Pre-Fall 2012

Oh Missoni. Their collections are needless to say, always memorable. The pre-fall collection of 2012 is no different! This year waist slimming belts have been added to keep the styles cinched and completed. The belts also bring a little bit of class to the ever-youthful collection. The cape (#4) is my absolute favorite!! I am so glad to see the bright colors of 2011 continuing on into 2012. The backdrop is absolutely stunning as well. Enjoy the feast for your eyes!

Ankle Boots Transformed

 

So I had these very inexpensive booties that I've had for a few years and never really wore because the boot hit my calf at an awkward spot! They weren't tall enough to be mid-calf or short enough to be considered an ankle boot. Click here and here for inspiration on the look I'm going for with these! Also here. I've been dying for a pair of unique boots that I can wear with shorts or dresses or skirts, pretty much anything really!

The process was simple. These were not leather boots so I just used a pair of scissors to cut them to the proper height. Then I sewed this awesome mixed-fabric twine from Anthropologie to the top of the boot, rolling it over slightly so that that cut edge is hidden. Then using a glue gun and thread I applied the twine down the back mid section of the boot. I'll snap a picture of me wearing them tomorrow!

DIY- Satin Mini Skirt to Envelope Clutch

So I had this lovely (not) satin mustard mini skirt that I bought for a Halloween costume several years ago. I've held onto figuring that I'd use the fabric for something useful in the future. And lo and behold! That moment has arrived. This was a very simple project that I finished in a few hours and anyone can do it who has any level of sewing skills!

Silky Wide Legs

I have long been obsessed with silky pants. Wide leg, Harem, Skinny, I love them all! And I am so ecstatic to see them continue on into fall. Here is a picture diary of wide leg, silky pants for any time of the year!

Isabal Marant - PFW S/S2012

My, Oh my! The Isabel Marant Spring/ Summer 2012 collection presentation at Paris Fashion Week was just stunning! I even sort of liked that she combined quite a few BSU color combinations into the mix. And artfully done tie-dye! The knitwear she included was unexpected with the silky silhouettes but equally gorgeous.

Ahh! That jacket on the right! I PINE! It's so BSU and so very chic! Tie-dye done right and not hippie-dippie like that dress in the middle is what I want NOW! I am so very happy that this will be carrying on into next summer! And I want that beautiful knit mini for right now as well.

This represents the milder side of the collection. A little bit safari and still mixed in with the tie-dye. And can I just mention that I hope these dainty shoes seen on a lot of runways are just used NOT to distract from the beautiful clothes because I love a hefty shoe. And I want them to continue into the upcoming season.
