Dress Form

So I got a dress form [finally] for Christmas this year! And I'm finally posting some pictures of the first shirt that I made using the form. It was SO MUCH easier to piece my designs together on the form rather than using myself as a form. I usually would try the shirt on 15 times in order to make it just right, but having the form has made everything easier! Enjoy.

DIY- Satin Mini Skirt to Envelope Clutch

So I had this lovely (not) satin mustard mini skirt that I bought for a Halloween costume several years ago. I've held onto figuring that I'd use the fabric for something useful in the future. And lo and behold! That moment has arrived. This was a very simple project that I finished in a few hours and anyone can do it who has any level of sewing skills!

And here is my process and result:

All in all I love the result! I will get a picture of me carrying it soon!

That amazing feeling when thrifting pays off: Big Time.

There was absolutely no way that I could dream of passing up this "Age of Aquarius" 100% linen masterpiece! I picked up this baby in a thrift store in a small town of 9,000 people. I wonder where it came from? I was drawn to it by the color and print..... I immediately decided that it would become a strapless linen gown for summer. Maybe I'd add a ruched piece in the back for comfort and a visible metal zipper.

But upon further thought and multiple try-ons, I am getting a little sad at the idea of removing those excellent sleeves, no?! I'll for sure need to keep it extra long and wear huge platforms because there is no way I am chopping off that beautiful print along the bottom half!

Let's Begin!

This blog is going to be a blog about my life! My cooking, sewing and other domestic endeavors. As well as art, work, travel and any other adventures that might come my way. I have been wanting to begin a blog for months now and I finally mustered up the courage after following several other blogs for the past few months!

I think I mostly would like to get some feedback on my sewing creations! I can't wait to get some followers!

Thanks to: Rockstar Diaries , The Beauty Department , and Hanneli for inspiring me to create a blog that will balance fashion, food and all creative endeavors!
